Welcome to our page about the Presidio. Within this exhibit you will learn about the creation of the Presidio and its significance from its inception to present time.
Goal: Our goal is to show that the Presidio, while it was the first settlement for the Spanish in Alta California and a site of forced conversion and mass exploitation, was a site of little to no significance during the Spanish and Mexican periods and George Marston renovated the site to show the Presidio as the Plymouth Rock of California.
