Just as the previous figures demonstrated an immense impact on local civil rights, various institutions and organizations played a significant role in shaping policy and public perception. Whether by way of political activism, committees, or school boards, a large deal of the Civil Rights Movement's success in San Diego stemmed from these collective concerted efforts. At the core of these organizations, creating a bright future for communities often required institutional action in order to inact efforts towards achieving true equality amongst its citizenry.
